chashama has just acquired two new rehearsal spaces for a limited
time
at 208 & 210 E.51st Street. each space is located just above a
storefront. currently, we can schedule them for only two weeks ahead of
time as the owner is looking to rent them out commercially, but anyone
needing a large bare room to rehearse in over the next two weeks or so
can email rehearsal [at] chashama.org.
rates are $5 an hour, payable upon signing a contract. renters must
arrange to pick up a key from our offices at 201 E.42nd Street, 32nd
floor (212.391.8151), prior to use and return the keys within 24 hours
of time booked
unless otherwise arranged.
also, we will now have the use of 234 W.42nd Street (the Food Court)
through November, and possibly through December as well. rates are
the same for groups under 7; groups of 8 or more at 234 must hire a
licensed security guard at an extra cost of $13 per hour. keys are
not necessary for this space, only a pre-arranged schedule.

presents RETTOCAMME in "Window Looming". A rotating cast of two
dancer/artists create and disassemble a large fabric structure in
alternating performances daily. Using various materials discarded and
donated by Garment District businesses, they illustrate the tale of
Odysseus' wife Penelope, who long awaiting his return from the Trojan
War, announced she would re-marry when the funeral canopy of Laertes
was complete. However, she had no intention of finishing her work, and
what she wove during the day, she unraveled by night.

Producers
Joe DeFeo and Braden Chapman
present the New York premier of Titus X, written by Shawn Northrip,
directed by Peter Sanfilippo.
Northrip, who received his M.F.A. in Musical Theatre Writing from
Tisch, decided to set a Shakespeare play to the music from the DC
underground. Titus seemed the perfect choice because it contained the
perfect balance of politics and unapologetic violence. This
tragic-comedy, which is as much concert as it is theatrical show,
follows the plot of Shakespeare's original revenge play, while reveling
in its own absurdity.
Titus X has been developed at the Kennedy Center 2002 Page to Stage
Festival, at Catholic University, at the 23rd Annual Washington New
Play Festival, and performed in production at Source Theatre in
Washington, DC.
Cast:
Amanda Bond, Bat Parnas, Benjamin Pryor,

Peter Schuyler, T-Boy
