Gabriela Galvan
"Visions from Abroad" Curated by Omar Lopez-Chahoud
Exhibition Dates: March 19 - April 27, 2008
Flushing Town Hall
137-35 Northern Boulevard
Flushing, NY 11354
Participating artists: Darlo Escobar, Gabriela Galvan, Jeffrey Gibson, Mark Golamco, Patrick Hamilton, Daniel Joglar, Rachel Mason
"Visions from Abroad" brings together seven artists from Latin America and New York for two weeks in Flushing to take the multi-cultural temperature of the community. The artists will then create new works of contemporary art in response to their experiences. Art making will take place in the Main Gallery of Flushing Town Hall, affording the public the opportunity to explore the process from conceptualization to realization with them.
Take the # 7 IRT subway to the Main Street station.  Go upstairs and walk north on Main Street (Citibank will be on the right side of the street, Burger King will be on the left side).  Walk until you come to Northern Boulevard (Main Street ends here).  Cross Northern Boulevard and make a right turn until you come to Linden Place.  We are on the corner of Linden Place and Northern Boulevard.
