· Setting artistic and production goals
· Defining your company status
· Your Legal To-Do List
· Fundraising for Off-Off-Broadway
· Realistic Budgeting
· Marketing a Showcase
· Getting the Rights: Copyright, Authors' Agreements, and Thinking About the Future
· Time Lines and Production Calendars
AMY KAISSAR is the Producing Director of the Epiphany Theater Company which she co-founded in 1999. Located in the West Village, Epiphany provides a professional environment to support the work of trained early career theater artists. Amy's directing work has been seen at Epiphany, The Pittsburgh Public Theater, The Samuel French Festival, The Funny Woman Festival, and on PBS. Her study, Theater Subscriptions in a Changing World was published by Arts Marketing and she has worked as a subscription consultant with New York City Opera and The Lark Theatre Company. Amy is also a freelance grant writer in New York and has written for World Cares Center, Illume Productions, DVblog, and The Lark Theater Company. BFA (Directing) Carnegie Mellon University, MFA (Theater Management) Columbia University.
STACEY COOPER McMATH is the General Manager of chashama, an organization that transforms vacant real estate into temporary artists' spaces. She is also the producing consultant for Fractured Atlas, a non-profit arts service organization. She has worked as the Company Manager for the Royal Shakespeare Company when they presented Midnight's Children at the Apollo Theater in Harlem, as the Associate General Manager of Peter Brook's Tierno Bokar (presented by the Columbia University Arts Initiative) and as the Managing Director of Voice & Vision Theater, a company that develops the work of women theater artists. She has produced theater for Studio 42, Green Chinchilla, and her own collective, Polybe + Seats. She graduated with honors in 2004 from the Theater Management and Producing MFA program at the Columbia University School of the Arts.
