Epiphany on the Cross Bronx Expressway
CASTING CALL FOR THE FEMALE LEAD AND SEVERAL SUPPORTING VOICEOVER ROLES IN AN ORIGINAL COMEDY (APPROXIMATELY 30 MINUTES), TO BE SHOT IN NASSAU COUNTY, NEW YORK DURING THE WINTER 2007-2008
MARSHA, a Yankees fanatic, and her husband, JOEL, who is utterly indifferent to all professional sports, are trapped in their car in bumper-to-bumper traffic on the Cross Bronx Expressway, listening to the radio. The New York Yankees have just lost the playoffs to the Boston Red Sox. Having suffered through the game, JOEL is now being compelled by MARSHA to listen to "Spike and the Lone Wolf," a postgame sports talk show.
Seeking actors for the roles of:
MARSHA: A Caucasian woman in her 50's, Joel's wife.
Only MARSHA and JOEL appear on camera. All other roles are voiceovers.
ANNOUNCER #1 (voiceover): A recognizable, but unidentified, impersonation of John Sterling, radio announcer for the Yankees on AM 880.
ANNOUNCER #2 (voiceover): A recognizable, but unidentified, impersonation of Suzyn Waldman, radio announcer for the Yankees on AM 880.
LONE WOLF (voiceover): A recognizable, but unidentified, impersonation of Chris "Mad Dog" Russo. (Prepare for audition by listening to "Mike and the Mad Dog" on WFAN AM 66 or the YES station 70 on cable TV.)
SPIKE (voiceover): A recognizable, but unidentified, impersonation of Michael "Mike" Francesa. (Prepare for audition by listening to "Mike and the Mad Dog" on WFAN AM 66 or the YES station 70 on cable TV.)
This play has been previously performed professionally on stage in Nassau County. (See Previous Publications and Productions link at www.woobaddee.com)
Rehearsals and filming will be primarily on weekends, in East Meadow (Nassau County).
